Carole Laure, Anna Prucnal – Sweet Movie (1974)

Sweet Movie (1974) is a Canadian-French-German co-production directed by Dušan Makavejev. The film interweaves two provocative stories. Carole Laure plays Miss Canada, a beauty queen who wins a “most virgin” contest and is married off to a wealthy industrialist. After a degrading wedding night, she embarks on a bizarre journey through communes, advertising and total humiliation.

In the parallel story, Anna Prucnal stars as Anna Planeta, the captain of a candy-filled boat sailing the canals of Amsterdam with a giant Karl Marx head on the prow. She seduces men and children with sugar and revolutionary rhetoric, leading to increasingly disturbing acts.
