The Tribe (2014) – Explicit Sex, Violence & Sign Language Drama

The Tribe (Ukrainian: Плем’я, 2014) is a groundbreaking Ukrainian crime drama directed by Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy. The entire film is shot in Ukrainian Sign Language without any spoken dialogue or subtitles. It follows a new deaf student, Sergey (Grigoriy Fesenko), who enters a boarding school for the deaf and quickly gets drawn into a brutal criminal hierarchy run by older students. The group engages in robbery, racketeering and forced prostitution of female students at a truck stop. Sergey falls for Anya (Yana Novikova), one of the girls he is assigned to pimp, which leads to tragic consequences.

The film features several long, explicit, unsimulated-looking sex scenes with full frontal female and male nudity (especially Yana Novikova), a graphic back-alley abortion sequence, and extreme violence including beatings, a neck-biting fight and a character being crushed by a truck.
